Today, I am releasing the Krea-2-Turbo_clear model, an image generation AI model with vibrant color expression and high completion quality, so I would like to introduce it.

Krea 2 is the highest completion quality image generation AI model ever released by Krea.ai.
About Krea 2
The company, under a founder with a background in film engineering, upholds the philosophy of pursuing art with AI. The Krea 2 model released in June 2026 has been highly praised for its natural expressions that do not feel AI-like.
Krea 2 reproduces the grain of film
Illustrations generated with Krea 2 reproduce the grainy feel of film camera photography.
Illustrations generated by image generation AI often have skin that is too smooth, resulting in a plastic-like texture. However, illustrations generated with the Krea 2 model include an appropriate amount of grain, creating natural expressions that do not feel AI-like.
It becomes noise in anime illustrations
On the other hand, in anime illustrations characterized by flat coloring, the grain remains as noise.
Therefore, this time I adjusted the Krea-2-Turbo model for anime illustrations to suppress the noise and achieve clean expressions.

The output from the Krea-2-Turbo_clear model has higher saturation compared to the original, and redness has been added especially to the skin tone.
Additionally, comparing the clothing areas in the magnified view, you can see cleaner painting with less grainy noise, making it suitable for flat anime illustration outputs.

Next, let’s check the color balance.
Modern Kimono
The Krea-2-Turbo_clear model’s illustration has emphasized blue compared to the original, while yellow to green tones are subdued.
Generally, in image generation AI, blue tends to be lost because it is difficult to distinguish from noise. However, Krea-2-Turbo_clear effectively complements blue with its complementary color, achieving vibrant color painting.
Realistic style has its pros and cons
Finally, let’s compare realistic-style illustrations.

The output from the Krea-2-Turbo_clear model is clearer than the original Krea-2-Turbo on the right, but the skin texture still tends to be too smooth and beautiful.
I believe skin texture is an area where the original Krea 2 was particularly carefully adjusted, so making casual adjustments can disrupt the hard-earned balance.
When generating close-up illustrations of people, it is recommended to use the original Krea 2 model, or when using the Krea-2-Turbo_clear model, consider using LoRAs that increase detail.
INT8_ConvRot_HQ is lightweight and high precision
On the distribution page for Krea-2-Turbo_clear, I have released two formats:
- BF16: 26.3 GB, high precision
- Int8_ConvRot_HQ: 15 GB, lightweight but with quite good precision
BF16 is a high-precision model that maintains the image quality of the original Krea 2 model.
In contrast, INT8_ConvRot is a new format that ComfyUI officially supported on July 1, 2026. It uses about half the capacity of BF16 but achieves precision comparable to the original BF16.
The INT8_ConvRot format surpasses conventional FP8 (MXFP8, FP8_svd_scaled, FP8_scaled) and NVFP4 in both image quality and speed.
About INT8_ConvRot_HQ quality
INT8_ConvRot_HQ is my custom format that keeps the first and last layers, which have a particularly strong impact on image quality, in BF16 format.
Note that the INT8_ConvRot format currently works on NVIDIA GPUs, but does not appear to run stably on AMD, Intel, or Apple MPS.
I believe the INT8 format can theoretically run on all GPUs, so I look forward to broader ComfyUI support for various GPUs in the future.
