anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2 Released! Natural Color Expression and Easy-to-Use ComfyUI Workflow

Introduction

Hello, this is Easygoing.

This time, I’d like to introduce the anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2 model, which features natural color expression, along with a simple and easy-to-use ComfyUI workflow.

What is anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2?

anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2 is a custom model based on the masterpiece anime model anima_pencil-XL-v5.0.0 created by blue_pen5805

Key features of the anima_pencil-XL series:

• Supports natural language prompts
• Charming round faces
• Soft lines and gentle color expression

I previously introduced the anima_pencil-XL_clear_v1 model, but I have since made further adjustments to improve the color expression. I am now releasing anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2, so I’d like to introduce it again.

Compared to v1 on the right, the output from anima_pencil-XL_clear_v2 on the left has more vibrant and lively colors.

The model has been tuned to work well with the standard Euler sampler and low CFG scale. This significantly reduces the color burning that commonly occurs at high CFG values, resulting in more natural color expression.

On the other hand, to create a cleaner look, the background detail has been intentionally reduced, so background complexity is simpler compared to v1.

Softer Expression, Though Detail is Weaker

Models in the Animagine-XL 3.x series, including anima_pencil-XL, have been around for over a year and a half. Compared to the currently mainstream Illustrious-XL derivative models, texture and fine detail are noticeably inferior.

However, highly stable models like the Illustrious-XL series tend to produce stiffer, more rigid expressions. Because they are used so frequently nowadays, it has become easier to generate similar-looking illustrations.

Personally, I really love the bright skin tone expression of the anima_pencil-XL series. I plan to continue exploring new original expressions by combining it with newer generation models such as HiDream and WAI-illustrious-SDXL.
