Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 Offers Significant Improvements!
The Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 model features comprehensive upgrades over its predecessor, the 2509 version.
Key Improvements in Qwen-Image-Edit-2511
- Overall quality enhancement
- Better character consistency
- Integration of community-created LoRAs
Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 represents a genuine evolution in overall quality.
Character consistency has also seen significant improvements. Faces and outfits remain more stable during the editing process, making it much more practical for iterative design work.
Furthermore, by leveraging the benefits of its open license, the model now integrates popular community-developed LoRAs, greatly improving usability in specific scenarios.

Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear Focuses on Color Tuning!
Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear is a custom version of Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 that I personally fine-tuned.
While the original Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 is already highly refined, this custom model takes it further with targeted color adjustments.
Actual Examples!
Let's take a look at some real illustrations.
The following four images compare results: top row uses 2511, bottom row uses the previous 2509 version. The left side shows my tuned clear model, while the right side shows the original Qwen-Image-Edit model.

Qwen-Image-Edit-2511: An All-Around Evolution
Comparing the top (2511) and bottom (2509) rows, the 2511 version clearly offers higher completion quality with cleaner, less noisy expressions.
The left-side clear model further enhances vibrancy and contrast, resulting in even more striking and convincing visuals!
Comparison with Nano Banana Pro and GPT-Image-1.5!
Now let's compare Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear against other leading image editing AIs.
This time, we'll pit it against Google's Nano Banana Pro and OpenAI's GPT-Image-1.5.
View from Above
First, we'll change the perspective of a photo of a person on a rainy night street to a top-down view.
AI illustrations tend to shift toward sepia tones
This is a fairly challenging edit, yet all three models handled the perspective shift with impressive accuracy.
Converting to Anime Style
Next, we'll convert a photograph into an anime-style illustration.
All three image editing AIs produced high-quality results with clean, detailed anime illustrations.
Focusing on color, both Nano Banana Pro and GPT-Image-1.5 tend toward muted, sepia-like tones, whereas Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear maintains vibrant colors, creating more convincing and lively illustrations.
Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear Comes with a Free License
Here's a summary table of the three models compared:
| Generation Speed | Prompt Understanding | Image Quality | License | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana Pro | π’ | π’ | π‘ | None |
| GPT-Image-1.5 | π’ | π’ | π‘ | None |
| Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 | ❌ | π‘ | π‘~π’ | Apache-2 |
Nano Banana Pro and GPT-Image-1.5 are large-scale online models, offering fast generation speeds and excellent prompt understanding.
In terms of image quality, however, Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 has evolved significantly by incorporating community feedback.
With Qwen-Image-Edit-2511, you can integrate it into ComfyUI workflows, adjust seed values, perform upscaling or color tuning, and push quality even higher. Overall, Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 stands clearly ahead in image quality.
Licensing Matters for Commercial Use
Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 also has a major advantage in licensing.
Nano Banana Pro and GPT-Image-1.5 do not provide explicit licenses to users.
While their terms don't explicitly prohibit commercial use (and it's often interpreted as allowed), they forbid generating "inappropriate images"—with Google or OpenAI making that judgment.
This means there's always a risk that generated images could later be removed by Google or OpenAI.
In contrast, Qwen-Image-Edit models run completely locally and are released under the Apache-2.0 license, which explicitly permits commercial use. No such worries here.
For any project requiring strict licensing compliance, Qwen-Image-Edit is the strongest option.
Qwen-Image_clear_vae: Healthier Skin Tones
In all examples shown here, I used my custom Qwen-Image_clear_vae model.
Qwen-Image_clear_vae is tuned to produce healthier, more natural skin tones (especially richer reds) compared to the original VAE.
It's a simple drop-in replacement for the standard Qwen-Image_vae—feel free to give it a try!
Workflows
Finally, here are the workflows I used with Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear.

Conclusion: Give Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear a Try!
- Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 represents solid evolution
- Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear improves color expression
- Fully open license
This time, I introduced Qwen-Image-Edit-2511_clear.
Thanks to its open license and rapid incorporation of community feedback, the Qwen-Image-Edit series has become a leading contender in image editing AI.
The main drawback of Qwen-Image is its heavy processing requirements, but lighter models like the upcoming Z-Image-Edit are expected soon. Alibaba will likely continue leading the image editing AI space.
Why not take this opportunity to try the improved Qwen-Image-Edit models yourself?
Thank you for reading to the end!
